Landlord Paul Watson originally came to the Waggon & Horses 
in late 2004 as a relief manager with the Spirit Group. Paul revived the flagging sales, bringing customers old and new into the pub and even received an award for his 'commitment, passion and flair'. 
When a number of Spirit's pubs were sold to Scottish & Newcastle, Paul and his wife, Rita, bought the tenancy and began an extensive refurbishment program which completed in July 2005. They also introduced a new menu with many of the items homemade including the pub's extremely popular range of desserts.
With the aid of an excellent team of staff who's combined experience totals more than 50 years, Rita and Paul hope to make your every visit to the Waggon even better than the one before.
